| PRINCIPE ISLAND |
| Hey, when was the last time you saw this species for sale? Well actually its been a long, long time. Did you know that it has been against the law to collect these for several years? Once a shell that cost 50. to $1.00 now sells for ten times that much and more. Recently these were selling for $18-$20.00ea. on the web by a well known dealer who had to collect them themselves. This species was once collected by the 1000's in Sri Lanka, but no longer. Now protected by law you can only get a few here and there! The major supplier of these shells lost his business on the 26 of December a few years ago when it was washed away by one of the worst tidal waves in history that hit Sri Lanka. Hundreds of thousands died in that event! These are from the edge of the Sinharaja forest, Sri Lanka. These are F+ or better. Only a dozen or two $12.00 $8.00 |
