Nigeria . It appears that the first shell listed is
Limicolaria flammea (Pfr.,1774). There are
three more different forms that were present in
a lot of 2200 shells. These may all be just
variations, but because so many of you want
color forms I am listing all. This is the normal
flammea.   A very dark striped shell.

extensively apricot-yellow, this colour
extending upward over much of the glazed

Here is another new species. It is
Lignus auripigmentum Reeve,1848.
One of my collectors just sent me two
of these to look at. WOW! I wrote right
back!! He will be looking. approx 50mm
Archachatina marginata var. icterica (Bequaert
and Clench, 1936)

This form was originally described from an
immature shell, from the Gabon as "uniformly
straw-yellow, also at apex, without any indication
of streaks or spots. The interior of the aperture
and upper part of the columella are slightly
bluish." The type was 89.5 mm. long, 58 mm. in
greatest width, of 5½ whorls, the aperture 60 by
32.5 mm.
Here is another species I have received from S.W. Region of
Cameroon which is right next door to Gabon where A.m. icterica is
known to come from. I hope to have more soon. No, I have no live
ones. Example above (color picture) is 123mm.+
Another new species!
One more!
Limicolaria flammea festiva from S.W.
Region , Cameroon. Again I hope to be
getting more of these. 85mm. heavy,
thick shells. Really nice species.
